This live performance is based on the sampling of vinyl records (IDM, techno, acid, Illbient...) that I found in a trash can, one morning in Brussels in the district of ST Gilles where I used to live. The records were dead, scratched, grooves dug, sometimes broken, in short unusable for a set. I guess the owner of the records had to throw them away after having kept them in a cellar for a few years. There are a lot of white labels, handmade pressings, without visuals, generic covers, sometimes without informations, pieces of grass and soil in some plastic covers, so I deduce that they made the tour of the Belgian free parties around 1995 - 2000 - 2010, because those with dates come from those years. I imagine a Belgian Dj who had to part with them reluctantly because of a lack of space, moving, family obligation, definitive stop of partying. For me those records have a soul and I didn't decide to keep them for nothing, they are relics, testimonies, they are charged objects. The idea is to sample those records, to modify them as much as possible to create sound materials to integrate in original compositions. It is maybe a question of making new with the old, to make those records thrown by their owner live again.
